Mary Ellen Maxwell

Mary Ellen Maxwell was born in about 1880 and died in early childhood.  Most researchers list her date of death as 1883, but no records corroborate that date.

Henry Levett Maxwell

Henry Levett Maxwell was born in 1885.  He married a woman named Daisy, and had a daughter named Delva who born in about 1909.  The last record of Henry and his family is the 1910 Federal Census which showed them living in Vann, Oklahoma where Henry was a farm laborer.  No further information is known.

  • Ruth M, born about 1910.  Ruth is listed in public records as being married to Lawrence L Page and living with him in Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1926 and 1928 (age 16 and 18).  No information about Lawrence Page is readily available.  In 1930, the Federal Census lists Ruth and two sons, Burnice D and J L, living with Ruth's parents.  She worked as a saleswoman in the hosiery department.  No information about Ruth is available after 1930.  Researchers on Ancestry.com list her date of death in 1933, but I have not found sources to confirm that date.  Information about her sons is scarce as well.  This is most likely due to the fact that Oklahoma records are not accessible online.  Further research may be able to fill in the holes.

  • Marjorie, born 3 July 1914 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  Marjorie married young just as her sisters did.  By 1930 at the age of 16, she was divorced (or perhaps pregnant and never married) and living with her parents.  Her daughter, Belva June, was born 12 April 1930.  Belva's father is unnamed, but some researchers list him as Houston Price, a 17 year old from Ardmore.  The last record of Marjorie was the 1940 Federal Census.  She was unmarried, working as a waitress, and living in Ardmore.  Researchers on Ancestry.com list two more marriages for Marjorie:  Clarence Earl Colwell in 1936 and Maurice James Ferrar in 1943; however, no records confirm these marriages.  Marjorie died on 11 May 2004.  She is buried under the name Marjorie Maxwell in Ardmore, Oklahoma.
    • Belva June, born 12 April 1930 in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  Belva married Joseph Michael Travato on 19 June 1944 in Marietta, Oklahoma.  Shortly after their marriage Joe, who was with the Army Air Corps, was deployed to Italy where he fought in World War II.  Belva moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to be with Joe's family.  Joe returned from the war, and they lived in Pittsburgh until 1973 when they relocated back to Ardmore.  Belva and Joe had one son, Joseph, and six daughters:  Carol, Patricia, Annette, Margie, Joann, and Rose.  Belva died on 2 April 1997 and is buried in Ardmore, Oklahoma.  Click here to see Belva's obituary.  Click here to see Joe's obituary and read more of Belva and Joe's story.

Three years after Nettie's death, John married Mary Myrtle Jones Hoosier on 7 March 1927.  Myrtle had a son, Jesse Jack Hoosier Jr, from a previous marriage.  It is unclear whether she was a widow or a divorcee.  John and Myrtle lived in and around Ardmore, Oklahoma where John worked as a farm laborer and a truck driver.
